Natural objects shaped by the hand and transformed by time.
Palm & Patina is ZenWenwan’s collection of traditional Chinese Wenwan walnuts — tactile objects selected to be held, turned, brushed, and appreciated over years of use.
Every pair begins with nature. Shape, ridge structure, texture, density, shell quality and color are never completely identical. We carefully hand-match individual walnuts to create pairs with visual balance and a satisfying feel in the palm.
With regular handling, their surfaces gradually deepen in tone and develop a smooth, warm luster known in Chinese Wenwan culture as baojiang (包漿) — patina.
Some are chosen as everyday companions. Others are collected for unusual cultivars, exceptional size, dramatic texture or remarkable matching. All are meant to become more personal with time.
掌中有物，歲月有痕。
一對文玩核桃，由天然生長，也由雙手慢慢完成。日久摩挲，色澤漸深，包漿漸成，每一對都留下屬於自己的歲月痕跡。
