Huabei Jiangjunling — North China General's Ridge

Meet Huabei Jiangjunling (North China General's Ridge), a named variety in the Chinese tradition of wenwan hand walnuts. This listing is for one individually identified natural pair from the Collector Selection. The pair shown in the product photographs is the pair offered here, not a generic illustration.

The Story Behind the Name

Jiangjunling, or General’s Ridge, is a strong and memorable name in the language of wenwan collecting. For this variety, collectors often pay close attention to how the naturally grown central ridge relates to the surrounding texture; the actual photographs are the right place to judge this particular pair.

About This Exact Pair · HBJSL-1C8

For a collector, the relationship between two naturally grown walnuts is part of the pleasure. Review the available views for ridge paths, tip details, base and overall correspondence; no artificial symmetry is promised.

Its two recorded measurements are 46.0 mm at the edge (bian, 邊) and 46.0 mm across the belly (du, 肚). They are two different measuring directions—not width and height. No height measurement is provided, and a tall or low profile cannot be established from these numbers alone.

Why Collect Wenwan Walnuts?

Wenwan walnuts are appreciated as natural objects meant to be held, observed and cared for over time. The experience is tactile and personal: subtle changes in surface appearance may develop with regular handling, but colour and patina vary by walnut and care routine. No particular patina colour or timeline is guaranteed.

Care

• Keep away from water, prolonged humidity, harsh heat and rapid temperature changes.
